In the first round, Korra went out "guns a'blazin" and actually handled Suyin pretty hard. At that point, it looked like the avatar would obtain the "W." However, after the first round jitters Suyin had of playing on the big stage, she applied fist to face on the poorly trained avatar. Korra just lacks fundamental boxing skills.
